Gombe State
has a lot of tourist attractions. Find below some of the major tourist sights:
1) The Famous
Bima Hill
This unique and beautiful sacred hill is found at the bank of the Dadin Kowa Dam in Yamaltu
Deba Local government area of Gombe state. It is regarded as sacred because of the history surrounding it. It
has a flat top and a pond at the middle Harbouring crocodiles and other aquatic animals. Historically, the
Shehu Usman Danfodio, the long Muslim leader was said to be camping at the western side of the hill before
the coming of the Europeans. A lot of mysteries surround this extraordinary mountain, especially related to
the emergence of the Mahdi (Messiah).
2) The Dadin Kowa Dam
The Dam is a three-fold dream of making it as a source to generate 34 megawatts hydro
Electric Power, for irrigation purpose and water supply to Gombe town and immediate
environs.

3) The Killang Hill
Located at Popandi village in Kaltungo local government area The kiland Hill has a
pentagonal shape and the highest protruding volcanic dyke in the North-East sub-region of the country.
Standing to a height of about 500 meters above sea level. It is suitable site for picnics, mountaineering,
geographical research and general sight seeing

4) The Tula Plateau
Tula Plateau is a naturally beautiful scenery wit deep valley, temperate weather and war
caves. Tula plateau is a dissected plateau with steeps, valleys and formations of hard igneous and
sedimentary rocks. The top is flat and table-like and is a settlement for the natives of Tula. The plateau is
700 meters above sea level with a fairy moderate temperature/weather conditions. A good resort and
sightseeing place. The following is the peak of the Tula plateau showing terrace farming along the sleepy
hillsides.
5) The Botobotoh Warm Spring
The Botobotoh warm spring is in Lalaipido ward of Shongom LGA of Gombe state. A natural warm spring
gushing out from the earth at regular intervals. The water from the spring is used for curing rashes and
other skin diseases and infections apart from the normal domestic use.
6) The Kalam Hill
The Kalam Hill is a plateau settlement of the ancient Bolawa kingdom located in Dukku Local
Government area of the state. A settlement of the Bolawa, Tangales and Waja tribesmen. According to oral
tradition, the three tribes were said to have settled on the hill around 15th Century AD migrating from the
lake Chad Basin. The relic of the old settlement has been declared a national monument and preserved for
historical researches and tourist delight. 
7) Cham Valley
A beautiful, breathtaking and charming valley and grass land, exceptionally entertaining,
located at Bambam, Balanga local government area. The charm valley will appeal to all visitors who appreciate
nature at its best.
